Discover the RiteThe teachings of the Scottish Rite are a series of instructions in ancient religions, philosophy, ethics, morals, history and mythology, taught by means of allegory and symbol. The purpose of every Masonic degree, and of every rite, is to encourage the individual search for knowledge. The degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite also depict man’s search for truth.
Our Order is a great tapestry of knowledge, woven from threads of diverse moral, ethical, philosophical, religious, political and mythical thought and symbolism. These lessons apply to the individual as much as to the community. Some are easily perceived; others reveal themselves only to diligent and determined seekers.
The Supreme Council for Romania founds in Belgrade the Chapter of Rose Croix — the first light of the Scottish Rite in the valley of the Sava.
Over three days — 9, 10 and 11 May — the Supreme Council, 33°, for the Kingdom of Serbia was founded. Đorđe Vajfert appointed Sovereign Grand Commander.
After a long silence, the ceremony of the Awakening of the Supreme Council was performed in Prague, under the auspices of the Southern Jurisdiction, USA.
The Order was renamed the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasons of Serbia, preserving unbroken continuity since 1912.
